Lisboa. Lisboa is known for its beautiful architecture, charming neighborhoods, and vibrant nightlife. Lisboa is also a center of the arts, with many museums, galleries, and theaters that showcase the country's rich cultural heritage.
There are thousands of itineraries you can choose from in Lisboa. Here's one of our favorites.
9:00am: Start the day by visiting the historic Alfama neighborhood, one of the oldest and most picturesque areas of Lisboa. Take a stroll through its narrow streets and alleyways, and admire the charming white houses with colorful tiles and flowers. Stop by the Miradouro das Portas do Sol, a viewpoint that offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the city.
10:30am: Head to the National Tile Museum (Museu Nacional do Azulejo), located in the Madre deDeus Convent. This museum displays a vast collection of Portuguese tiles, from the 15th century to the present day. Learn about the history and evolution of this traditional art form, and marvel at the intricate and beautiful designs.
12:00pm: Take a ride to the Baixa neighborhood, the heart of Lisboa's downtown. Explore the lively streets and squares, and stop by the Elevador de Santa Justa, a neogothic elevator that connects the Baixa and Chiado areas. Take a ride to the top for a stunning view of the city.
1:30pm: Enjoy a traditional Portuguese lunch at a tasca, a small restaurant that serves local food. Try some of the classic dishes, such as bacalhau (salt cod), cozido (meat stew), or sardinhas assadas (grilled sardines).
3:00pm: Head to the Calouste Gulbenkian Museum, one of the most important art museums in Lisboa. This museum houses a vast collection of art, including Egyptian artifacts, as well as European paintings and sculptures from the 20th century. Don't miss the beautiful gardens surrounding the museum.
